The world championship in 2013 and 2015 International Collegiate Programming Contest Worlds Finals. Gennady is the highest-rate programmer in HackerRank, Topcoder, CodeChef, and AtCoder, as of December 2022.

Gennady Korotkevich was born in Gomiel (southeastern Belarus). His parents are programmers in the mathematics department at Frabcysj Skaryna Homiel State University.

When he was 6, he started showing interest in his parents’ activity, and at 8, his father designed a game he could play to learn to program. Korotkevich gained global attention when he qualified for IOI (International Olympiad in Informatics) in 2006.

He holds the record for the most successful competitor in the International Olympiad in Informatics history.

In 2019, Gennady Korotkevich was a PhD student at ITMO.
