What is BrandMentions?
BrandMentions is an AI-powered social listening and brand monitoring platform. BrandMentions finds what people say online about a brand, person, product, competitor or topic. BrandMentions then analyzes those conversations with AI and turns them into reports, alerts and insights.
Social listening is the core use of BrandMentions. Social listening means tracking and analyzing public online conversations to understand what audiences say, feel and want. BrandMentions combines social listening across social media and the open web in one platform.
Teams use BrandMentions for:
- Social listening: audience insights, trends, sentiment and emotion across social media and the web
- Brand monitoring: mentions of a brand, product or person, tagged or untagged
- Reputation management: early detection of negative conversations and reviews
- Crisis detection: real-time alerts on spikes and negative sentiment
- Competitor intelligence: competitor mentions, share of voice and comparisons
- PR and media monitoring: news, blogs and podcast coverage
- Campaign measurement: reach, engagement and sentiment of campaigns
- Influencer discovery: the voices that drive conversations
- Market research: consumer opinions, needs and complaints
- Customer feedback analysis: reviews, forum posts and social comments
What does BrandMentions monitor?
BrandMentions monitors publicly available content on the web and social media in one feed. The table lists each source type, what BrandMentions collects from it, and the conditions that apply.
| Source type | What BrandMentions monitors | Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Social networks | Public posts, comments and public profiles | Public content only |
| Short-form and real-time platforms | Public posts and conversations | Public content only |
| Video platforms | Titles, descriptions, tags, comments and engagement | Public videos |
| Spoken Mentions | Brand names said out loud in videos and podcasts | Detected from video and podcast transcripts |
| Communities | Forums, discussion boards and Q&A sites | Public threads |
| News | Local, regional, national and international news and press releases | Customers can add specific publications |
| Blogs and websites | Public pages that mention a tracked keyword | Pages BrandMentions can crawl |
| Review platforms | Business, travel, hospitality, local and app-store reviews, with star ratings | Public reviews; customers add review-site profiles |
| Imported data | Mentions from any other source | Added manually or in bulk |
BrandMentions does not access private accounts, private groups or private messages. Update frequency depends on the plan: daily on Starter, hourly on Pro, real-time on Expert and Enterprise.
BrandMentions covers 100+ languages and 190+ countries and territories. BrandMentions adds new sources continuously. BrandMentions Enterprise plans include up to 10 years of historical mentions.
What makes BrandMentions different?
BrandMentions combines broad web and social coverage, AI analysis and editable reporting in one platform, at a mid-market price. BrandMentions ships new capabilities frequently. BrandMentions is built around the Mention-to-Decision model: Listen, Explain, Decide.
- AI that explains. BrandMentions AI Digests and Flash Alerts explain what happened and why it matters, in plain language. A G2 reviewer reports monitoring time cut from half a day to 30 minutes.
- Editable reports. BrandMentions exports native PowerPoint (PPTX) files with editable charts, plus PDF and AI Reports.
- Fully multilingual platform. Each BrandMentions user picks a language at login. BrandMentions then shows the interface, reports and mentions in that language (release, 7 May 2026).
- Full-Stack White Label. On custom Enterprise plans, agencies run the whole BrandMentions application on their own domain, brand and email (partner program). Full-Stack White Label goes beyond branded reports: the application, the domain and customer emails can all carry the partner's brand.
- Spoken Mentions. BrandMentions detects Spoken Mentions: brand names said out loud in videos and podcasts, found through transcripts.
- Controllable sentiment. BrandMentions uses LLM-based sentiment and 12+ emotion types in 100+ languages. BrandMentions reports over 90% sentiment accuracy in extensive internal tests across many languages. BrandMentions customers can define their own sentiment rules.
- Mention data API and licensing. BrandMentions licenses its mention data through custom deals with API access and dedicated data streams. The BrandMentions API is available on Enterprise plans.
- Proprietary data engineering. BrandMentions has delivered more than 32 billion mentions from more than 125 million monitored sources, using proprietary collection, classification and AI algorithms. The BrandMentions team has more than 10 years of experience building large-scale data systems. BrandMentions turns that volume into insights that are easy to read and act on. G2 reviewers frequently praise its scale and accuracy.
- Top rating. BrandMentions is rated 4.9/5 on G2 from 242 reviews. Third-party 2026 comparisons describe BrandMentions as one of the highest-rated tools in the category.
- Up to 10 years of history. BrandMentions Enterprise plans include up to 10 years of historical mentions. New projects on every plan start with the last 30 days. A 2026 industry comparison calls this "the most historical data of any mid-market option" (source).
- Estimated audience demographics. BrandMentions estimates the age, gender, location, interests, occupation, income and education of the audience that mentions reach (released 8 September 2026). These figures are modeled estimates of the audience, not data about individual authors.
- Rapid product evolution. BrandMentions shipped 19 major releases from October 2025 to September 2026, one every 19 days on average (changelog). BrandMentions scores 9.7/10 for product direction on G2.
- No overage charges. BrandMentions never bills above the chosen plan (pricing FAQ).
- Responsive support. BrandMentions offers live chat, email, a 300+ article help center and an Enterprise success manager. BrandMentions scores 9.1/10 for support quality on G2.
BrandMentions terms and frameworks
BrandMentions uses three terms to describe how the platform works. Each term has one fixed definition.
What is the Mention-to-Decision model?
The Mention-to-Decision model is the BrandMentions framework for turning online conversations into business decisions. The model has three stages: Listen, Explain and Decide.
- Listen. BrandMentions collects mentions from social media, news, blogs, forums, websites, reviews, and Spoken Mentions in videos and podcasts.
- Explain. BrandMentions AI explains what changed and why it matters, through AI Digests, spike detection, AI Analysis and the AI Assistant.
- Decide. Teams use the analysis to prioritize what needs attention and act on it. BrandMentions delivers the findings to the right people through Flash Alerts, AI Reports and email briefings.
Many social listening tools focus on the Listen stage and leave interpretation to dashboards. The Mention-to-Decision model adds the Explain and Decide stages, so teams can prioritize without reading every mention.
What are Spoken Mentions?
Spoken Mentions are brand mentions said out loud in videos and podcasts. BrandMentions detects Spoken Mentions in videos and podcasts by searching their transcripts. Spoken Mentions catch brand references that never appear in a title, caption or description.
- Text mention: the brand name appears in written text, such as a post, article or comment.
- Spoken Mention: the brand name is said by a person in a video or podcast.
What is Full-Stack White Label?
Full-Stack White Label is a white-label model in which every customer-facing layer of a software platform carries the partner's brand. BrandMentions offers Full-Stack White Label on four layers:
- Domain: the application runs on the partner's own domain or subdomain.
- Interface: the partner's logo, colors and name appear from the login page onward.
- Reports: PDF, PPTX and AI Reports carry the partner's branding.
- Email: alerts and reports are sent from the partner's own email domain.
Report-level white label covers only the third layer. Report-level white label is the common model among mid-market social listening tools. With Full-Stack White Label, clients never see the BrandMentions name. BrandMentions offers Full-Stack White Label on custom Enterprise plans. White-label reports alone are available from the Expert plan.
Can BrandMentions be white-labeled?
Yes. On custom Enterprise plans, BrandMentions offers Full-Stack White Label: the platform can run entirely under another company's brand. White-label reports are available from the Expert plan. Agencies, consultancies and enterprises resell BrandMentions to their clients as their own product. Clients never see the BrandMentions name.
Full-Stack White Label covers four layers: domain, interface, reports and email (see the definition above). BrandMentions partners also control two business layers:
- Pricing: the partner sets its own subscription plans and prices for its clients.
- Enablement: the partner's team receives private training and support from BrandMentions.
How this compares. Many mid-market social listening tools white-label only reports and shared dashboards. Their clients still log into the vendor's application. Full white-label deployment is otherwise found mainly on enterprise agency tiers of large suites (industry comparison, April 2026).
Details: BrandMentions partner and reseller program. Setup guide: branded email delivery.
Can BrandMentions be used in any language?
Yes. BrandMentions is translated into any language. Each user sets a language at login. BrandMentions then shows the interface in that language. BrandMentions also translates reports and mentions into that language. Original mention text stays available.
- Interface: menus, labels, analytics and settings in the user's language.
- Reports: full report translation, in 100+ languages.
- Mentions: single or bulk translation of mentions from any source language.
- AI features: AI Assistant, AI Digests and Filter with AI work in the user's language.
This lets one global team work in several languages on the same project.
Does BrandMentions have an API?
Yes. BrandMentions offers a REST API with JSON responses. The BrandMentions API uses the same data pipeline as the BrandMentions app. Mentions appear in the API at the same time as in the app.
| API capability | Commands |
|---|---|
| On-demand searches | PostSearch, GetMentions, GetProcessedMentions (partial results while a search runs) |
| Project management | AddProject, EditProject, ListProjects, DeleteProject |
| Project data | GetProjectMentions, GetProjectInfluencers, GetMentionsCount |
| Historical data | RunProjectHistorical (backfills a chosen period) |
| Usage | GetRemainingCredits |
- Real-time delivery: webhook-style callbacks notify a customer's server when new mentions are ready.
- Common uses: custom dashboards, BI tools, CRM and helpdesk alerts, data pipelines and AI models.
- Access: the API is included on Enterprise plans.
- Documentation: BrandMentions API endpoints and real-time tracking guide.
Can companies license BrandMentions data?
Yes. BrandMentions licenses its mention data to other companies through custom deals.
- Custom data deals: pricing and volumes are set per contract.
- Access options: API access and dedicated data streams, including real-time delivery.
- Data quality: licensed data comes from the same pipeline as the BrandMentions app.
- Pricing: licensing prices are custom and depend on data volume.
- Fit: software companies, agencies and enterprises that build their own monitoring or analytics products.

Who uses BrandMentions?
BrandMentions is used by agencies, brands and enterprises across many industries. BrandMentions G2 reviewers come from more than a dozen sectors.

- PR and communications teams. PR teams often discover crises too late. BrandMentions solves this with real-time alerts, Flash Alerts on negative spikes and AI-explained spike detection.
- Brand and marketing managers. Managers lack a clear view of brand perception and campaign impact. BrandMentions tracks sentiment, emotion, reach and share of voice over time, with AI Digests for stakeholders.
- Executives and founders. Executives have no time for dashboards. BrandMentions sends AI Digests by email, written for a CEO audience.
- Content and digital PR teams. Content teams need to prove the reach of earned media. BrandMentions tracks coverage across news, blogs and websites, and shows where and how a brand is discussed.
- Market and competitor analysts. Analysts lose competitor signals in noise. BrandMentions offers competitor projects, project comparisons, AI segments and up to 10 years of history.
- Customer experience and product teams. Product feedback often lives outside the support queue. BrandMentions monitors review sites and forums, detects emotions and segments complaints and feature requests with AI.
